			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are pleased to announce that <a href="https://www.bi.id.ethz.ch/personensuche/detail.do?pid=13015&amp;lang=EN">Duilio Arigoni</a> will give the Cedric Hassall talk this year, entitled &#8220;Chiral t-butyl groups as a tool for the study of biosynthetic reaction steps&#8221;.</p>
<p>The Gregynog Natural Products Symposia were initiated by Professor <span>Cedric Hassall FRS</span> in 1967.  He contributed significantly to the bioorganic area, including the area of peptide antibiotics and peptidomimetics, as well as to medical institutes in the UK.  He was also was the first professor of Chemistry at the <a href="http://www.mona.uwi.edu/chemistry/about/prizes.htm">University of the West Indies, Mona</a> (<a href="http://wwwchem.uwimona.edu.jm/chassll.html">photos</a>), and head from 1947-1957.</p>
